Ten Amazing Years

have gone by since we exchanged our vows. Amazing indeed.

July 9, 1999

A mere month before we were married...

I:

*Immigrated from one country to another

*Moved from the west coast to the east coast

*Left a big, modern city for a small, old-fashioned city

*Filled out a billion forms towards gaining citizenship in this new country, where we hoped to raise a family

*with help from great friends, planned a beautiful wedding in the Catholic Church that came together just in time for the big day

You:

*moved back to your home country after 3 years working and living in Port-au-Prince, Haiti

* Took a non-traveling position so we would not have to spend our first years of marriage apart for any great lengths

*were very excited about starting a family once we were husband and wife

*had a great house built a few years prior to us dating that overlooked the Atlantic harbour

We:

*decided on a month-long road trip for our honeymoon, since we had just returned from the Caribbean

*could not have been happier to find out that we were expecting our 1st child (a true honeymoon baby!) after I started feeling carsick along the way home from our honeymoon vacation.

* got a golden retriever puppy "Caesar" just a few months into our marriage to keep us company until our new baby arrived and as a companion for the little one in my tummy. (Looking back, I wouldn't recommend adding a pup so soon after getting married, but I HAD to have him at the time.)

That was a little about us then, and here we are now:

In the past 10 years, we...

*have been blessed with 4 incredible kids

* spent 4 years out east, 6 years in the central region and are now preparing to go west

* have put many miles on our vehicle on several cross-country road trips with our family

*have been fortunate to have consistently agreed on most topics relating to our children

Pete,
I Love You More Today than Yesterday.
Love, Shannon
