Honeymooners from Houston

A couple weeks ago, while at mass on his lunch hour, Pierre met this beautiful young couple, on the tail end of their honeymoon.  They were married just after Christmas in Texas.

Jamison and Rebecca chose this city as their honeymoon destination for its richness in religious history and culture, being the origin of the Roman Catholic church (in the Eastern section of North America) and secondly, to experience the winter wonderland which describes this locale to a T this time of year.

When my husband came across these two, their trip was just winding down and they were thrilled to be invited over to meet our family and share a meal.  They felt so welcomed and we were completely honored that they desired to spend any part of their honeymooon with us.  We quickly discovered that we had tons to chat about, starting with the groom having grown up in Florida (we own a home there) and the bride being born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, of all places.

We had an enjoyable evening getting to know our new friends from Houston.  They are fantastic with children and were kind to say that they had a great time getting an up close view of a big family- one like they would love to have one day.  What a compliment!

They have welcomed us to their home in the Lone Star State if we ever make a trip that way and we sure hope they return here as well.
