Caesar Payne-- we thought of you as you turned 9 on the 19th. You were our first baby and only brown-eyed offspring. Born a mere 5 months before your buddy Christian, Pierre and I fell for your sweet nature, so characteristic of Golden Retrievers, and loved your cream coloring.
I admit to thinking we were getting more of a macho dog when we chose a male, but you proved to be the opposite. Deathly afraid of thunderstorms, fireworks and soccer balls, but a loyal companion. On several occasions we watched you provide total protection over our kids when the need arose.
A few months back we realized that with 4 young children, we had far less time to spend with you than desired. We knew it was time to find you a home where you would receive the amount of love and attention you so deserved.
Luckily, Grandpa and Nana Sue were prepared to take you to live with them and two other dogs in Seattle. You did great on the trip over and have completely adjusted to your new life and home. We love that we can visit you on vacations and hear updates anytime. Camille and I enjoyed seeing you in your new surroundings.
You are such a sweet boy and we miss you!

That must have been an incredibly difficult decision for you all! But I am happy to hear that he is still a member of the family! What a cute pup!
