Easter at our house

Our holidays just seem to keep on getting more enjoyable with each passing year.

It's great to have the older kids really getting the true meaning of the blessings of this season and in turn makes it a pleasure to indulge in some of the "just for fun" traditions that are more about Spring than anything else.

It turns out all 4 kids wanted in on the egg hunt again this year. We don't have a lot of hiding spots in our wide-open yard, but even our 10 yr. old still chose to take part. Pierre obliged and managed to hide all 48 eggs. It worked out perfectly that there were 4 colors- each child looked for their own color and there was no problem with fairness between the ages.

In the afternoon we took an easy drive out to the countryside and just explored around. This part of the day was more for us parents. We had clear skies and warmth. It was so nice to have our sunroof open on an early April day.

As we got hungry we headed home for our non-traditional Easter dinner of tandoori chicken with rice and a salad. It was tasty and everyone cleared their plates. Just right for a family that ate out a lot over our recent vacation. All we want to eat for the next while are healthy, home-cooked meals.

  2. Lovely! Everyone looks so great!

I had to laugh about the eggs. We must have bought the same pack from Loblaws...it worked out great for four kids. Now what are you going to do next year?! :)
